Quick Way to Block Unwanted Callers on Your Smartphone

We’re all familiar with the “Do Not Call List.” It works great if you have a land line but is pretty useless for your mobile device. So if you’re tired of being solicited to be a “mystery shopper,” here’s an easy way to send those pesky callers directly into your voice mail.

My smartphone is a Droid 2 but all of the advanced mobile devices work similarly.

Here’s all you do:

  1. Take an unwanted call on your phone. This is the easy part.
  2. Save the number as a New Contact. I name the contact ZZZ so it’s at the bottom of my list.
  3. Edit the contact. For Droid it’s under Additional Info, last entry named “Send straight to voce mail?”
  4. Check the box
  5. For additional unwanted callers, save the number as ZZZ.

You will have to listen to a new unwanted call the first time but after that it’s in to voice mail jail for eternity.
